So I think after quitting drawing cold turkey, I'm ready to start drawing again. The only problem is, I'm afraid of going stagnant and hitting a huge block like I did the last time. It was becoming a bit frustrating seeing some beautiful work on here, and seeing those people constistantly getting better and better, and I was stuck in a huge rut.
I'm thinking this time out, I need to make a real effort to be a bit more well-rounded, drawing wise. So my idea for this time around is to do what I did when I first started drawing - copying. I want to find some drawings or paintings that have aspects to them that I admire, and try my damndest to copy them, and learn how to get those results. I need to practice working with colour, realism, backgrounds, and everyday objects, and copying seems to be the best way to learn.
Does anyone think that this is a good/bad idea?
